The 2009 National Pie Championships are another sweet success for Cyrus O'Leary's Pies!
Since first entering the competition in 2002, Cyrus O'Leary's Pies has received blue ribbons each year in the Commercial Division of the National Pie Championships, winning first place for each of the following:
*Seasonal Items not currently in distribution The American Pie Council has established professional and rigorous standards for judging the commercial competition, ensuring that scoring is non-biased and independent. "Our commercial competitors have found that winning an American Pie Council (APC) award can substantially increase sales and market share in their respective categories and the competition gets tougher every year", says Linda Hoskins, Executive Director of the American Pie Council. Cyrus O'Leary's Pies is owned by Cyrus Vaughn, Barclay Klingel and Dennis Dipo. Their operation has been in business for 25 years and features a complete line of more than 40 gourmet pies. Cyrus O'Leary's Pies are made fresh daily and distributed to hundreds of supermarkets and restaurants throughout the Inland Northwest. Additionally pies are distributed frozen outside the Inland Northwest. Dennis Dipo is a Board Member on the American Pie Council and has actively worked to promote programs that will grow the pie industry with an emphasis on quality, both here in the Northwest and also nationally. The American Pie Council is the only organization committed to preserving America's pie heritage and promoting American's love affair with pies. Designed to raise awareness, enjoyment and consumption of pies, the APC's goal is to ensure that pie making, one of America's great icons, is passed on from generation to generation. Commercial members of the APC not only participate in the National Pie Championships, but also benefit from two days of seminars provided by the American Institute of Baking, as a key educational component of the Great American Pie Festival.
